Lighting Inspiration

Our next exploration deals with lighting in after effects and lighting techniques in general. To start out, we needed to find some inspiration to draw lighting from and recreate.

I personally really love Visual Development and really would like to get into that field of work aside from Motion Design. So I take alot of inspiration from Concept art, Storyboards, and Visual development particularly lighting viz dev's.

This first image is the image I am going to recreate as far as lighting wise.

The reason I chose this image is because of the amazing light temperatures that not only look amazing but also gives you a sense of time and place and also draws your attention in interesting ways.

This one is great because of the way the artist uses the lighting to tell the story. The rim lighting and the pool lighting is particularly great and is believable while also being visually interesting.

This city scene is nice also due to the great lighting effects and atmospheric lighting that the moon gives off. I would have liked to make an animation similar to this one but decided not to for the sake of time. I will probably go back and do something similar to it later down the line.
